Sometimes, we wish a day would last forever, and that we never forget those days. If only the bridal or baby showers that family and friends gave you , or your wedding day could go on forever. I keep these memories alive with my photo memory books, which are some of my most appreciated possessions. I have my girls night out photo memory book from the night my sister and my friends threw me a fantastic wedding shower. We took a lot of pictures that serve as wonderful reminders of what a fabulous night that was. I have shots of all the crazy stuff we got into that night, along with some of how dazzling the décor of the party was. We really had a wild time and I’ve got super photos to prove it. We went to a spot where there were male dancers and snapped a few photos there. They knew how to work the crowd. That is definitely a night I’ll never forget, that was the first and only time I’ve ever been to a place that had male dancers. They may not have been in Playgirl, but they were definitely worth seeing.
I got a special wedding memory book along with everything else I was buying when I was preparing for our wedding. We had no shortage of pictures to put in it. In fact I knew to buy a couple of them, so I’d have enough space for all the pictures. Even after filling our wedding photo album with pictures there were still many photos left to find places for. There were also pages for our guests signatures in one of the albums. We had my first initial and my husband’s first initial flanking the initial of our last name on the cover of our personalized memory books. These books have such a look of elegance with it’s satin ribbon and gorgeous fabric. There are also refill pages available if needed, and we certainly need them.
I have picture books for every major moment that I’ve lived through. The number of keepsake memory books I have will only go up since I hang on to them all. At the moment, I have books from my baby shower, wedding, and bachelorette party. My boy is one year old and my daughter’s about to turn three. My son has a blue book and my daughter has a pink one; we got the right colors because we found out what they’d be before they were born. I keep everything from their christenings to their first steps in these books. The baby memory books have pictures, handprints, and birth certificates stored there, too. I slipped an official invitation from the showers and wedding in each album as well. I could open up a photo gallery with all of the pictures I have stored away.
My husband complains all the time about the space these books take up on our closet shelf, but it’s like this, I want to hold on to all the great and special moments in our lives, and the best way to do this is through pictures. But all that is about to change soon, because I’m clearing a couple of shelves in the family room for all the home movies that I’ll be recording on the new camcorder I just bought. So now, with the albums we have and the ones we will probably have in the future and all the videos I plan to record, I’m probably going to need a lot more room than originally planned. What can I say, my recollections of the past mean a lot to me. These are the most precious years in a mothers life and I’m not letting anything get by me.
