When the invitations were completed, I had to go forward with putting together the exact products that I would use. I bought large scarlet bows made of velvet to put on the church pews with a ribbon that would run from one pew to the next. The altar was beautifully decorated, with wonderful candle holders and candles, including our unity candle which was adorned with a heart made of red roses. There were also red and pink roses to help with the décor of the wedding site and red and white roses in my bridal bouquet. It may have been a touch extravagant, but I’ve always wanted to have doves released as we left the church building, so we did, and it I thought it was wonderful.

All of our dresses and the tuxedos were all taken care of and now I had to concentrate on our accessories and supplies for the reception. Our tables were decorated with hearts and flower bouquets and lovely little candles that worked perfectly for a hearts wedding reception. I also found beautiful hearts wedding favor gifts for our friends and family that not only made great keepsakes, but added to the decor of our reception tables. We chose special heart favors for the bridesmaids, and little flower girl, and my fiance chose gifts for the groomsmen and ring boy. We really lucked out on price, too, and was really surprised at all the discount and wholesale prices there were for so many items.   

For our wedding reception I had centerpieces made up of red, white and pink roses with little valentine hearts arranged in with the flowers. We placed two hearts wedding candles on each table in order to create the ambiance of romance that I wanted to achieve, and they were accompanied by what I considered to be the best gifts available. I picked out small silver bells with handles in the form of a heart to give each of our guests as a present that would be a memento of our wedding. Every layer of our wedding cake was adorned with small red and pink roses, and the bottom section had tiny hearts running all the way around it. On top sat our very special keepsake hearts wedding cake topper made of white porcelain, which looked so elegant with all the other cake decorations.

Our entire wedding day called to mind love and Valentine’s Day, filled with flowers and hearts galore. I’m just glad I had the internet to turn to, it made everything so much easier.
